By the way, while all this
is going on, Betsey's sister, Jill, and her family have decided to do
the same thing, at the same time right along with us. If you think it
would be chaotic for one family to chuck it all and go cruising, think
about two families doing it at the same time. From the same place!
I have to thank them and give them credit, they did it, and helped us do it, without loosing their sanity. You see, we did this through the winter 2002/2003 on the east coast in snow, ice and cold. We couldn't have done it without them. Anyway, during the last week of April, 2003, we both left Utch's Marine in Cape May Harbor, NJ, heading south and haven't looked back since. They in their 34' Marine Trader double cabin trawler, and we in our 40' Marine Trader Sedan. As I write this, we are sitting in Newfound Harbor in the Florida Keys and Jill and her family are in Solomons, Maryland on the Chesapeake. They're taking a break from cruising and we are preparing to do the west coast of Florida before heading north for the summer. We have no regrets and are totally enjoying our new life.
