All About Us... Continued |

Let's trade our quiet life
in the woods to pile into a motor home with two kids and three cats and
spend the rest of our lives on the road, in a metal box, in traffic,
breathing exhaust fumes in our quest to "get away from it
all"?
Hummm... Perhaps we should explore other alternatives. Not that there's anything wrong with "RV'ing" but, it just wouldn't work for us. I kept having this dream about the three cats getting loose in a truck stop, not pretty! Now, this may seem strange to those of you who know us since both Betsey and I have grown up on and around the water. We were "messing about in boats" shortly after we learned to spell boat, possible before. I have no explanation for our choice of habitat other than we were totally overwhelmed with what we were about to undertake. Anyway, sanity
prevailed, or so we thought, and we decided to look for a suitable boat,
a sailboat. Now I have no desire to alienate the sailing
community, I LIKE sailboats, I ENJOY sailing but, lets stick with what
we know.
Neither of us had much experience with large sailboats and here we were contemplating
moving all our worldly possessions onto one along with the two kids and
three cats and happily taking off to see the world? Our search for a
sailboat quickly turned into a search for a motorsailer. |
